online shops and web applications

The following projects involve e-commerce (online selling) and other bespoke functionality.  Click on the titles or screenshots to open the websites in a new browser window.  Since all the websites can be easily updated by their owners at any time, I am not responsible for their content!

Zedhead Designs - 2008

Zedhead Designs
The Zedhead design label was created in 2007 by textile print designer Zoe Thompson.  Zoe was already running a successful business from a website she had built herself, but was looking to overhaul the design, and to add online payment facilities via PayPal.  This site used illustrations by the brilliant Bristol-based artist Lottie Frank.

Auction Saboteur - 2008

Auction Saboteur
Auction Saboteur is an online community for buying and selling 'outsider' art.  For this project I worked alongside designers Beverley Dale, who designed the site's layout, title banner and menus, and Joff Summner, who created the iconic flag logo.

The site allows members to advertise artwork for sale, browse the listings and buy from other members. In its first 9 months, over 1,000 members signed up to the site and negotiated sales worth over £200,000.00.

Wilson Trax - 2007

wilsontrax.jpg
Cycling enthusiasts Miles & Jenny Wilson commissioned this online shop to turn their hobby into a business opportunity. The site features an extensive catalogue of over 1,000 products along with full shopping cart and credit card payment facilities.

I worked with the clients to create their logo and colour scheme, which are now used for the company's online and offline marketing materials.

Gallery Space - 2006

This site provides affordable online gallery space for contemporary artists. Artists pay a monthly fee depending on how much space they require, and are given their own updateable Space where they can display their artwork.

The simple, elegant design allows visitors to appreciate the artist's work with minimal distraction. However, the artist can also opt for a bespoke page design if they prefer.

Bristol Musicians' Snooker Association - 2006

BMSA
The BMSA needed a website to promote their activities and to keep track of tournaments and scores. This site involved bespoke applications programming as well as a quirky visual design.

Custom facilities provided by this site include the ability to create and display tournament trees, record and distribute player contact details, and calculate player rankings based on their tournament results.
